Once again the Nets had a chance to win a season-high third straight game. And once again, they spit the bit in dropping a testy 108-96 decision to the suddenly streaking Pistons before 16,097 at Barclays Center on Sunday.
The game saw Quincy Acy and Detroit’s Andre Drummond ejected, and D’Angelo Russell back in the Nets’ lineup after being benched for the final three quarters of Saturday’s comeback victory in Miami. Russell started and was solid, but it didn’t help.
The Nets (25-52) had posted back-to-back wins — versus Orlando and Miami — for only the second time all season.
