Otto Porter suitors are falling as Nets’ hope grows

The Nets just moved a step — or two — closer to landing top offseason target Otto Porter Jr.

Sacramento had already extended Porter Jr. a four-year, $106 million offer sheet, but the Wizards’ restricted free agent opted to visit other teams before signing it. With Brooklyn believed to be meeting with Porter and agent David Falk over the long holiday weekend, the Kings made a series of moves Tuesday that likely took them out of the race.

At the time of the Kings’ max offer, the Nets and Atlanta were the only teams that had enough space to match it.
