Sean Marks has his work cut out this offseason, but most of the tasks appear miniscule compared to who's chosen as the next head coach of the Nets.
Marks will be hiring the fourth head coach since the Nets moved to Brooklyn four seasons ago. This will be his first major hire since taking over as general manager of the team.
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Nets dipped into the Tom Thibodeau sweepstakes but he never got back to them. Thibodeau will have plenty of hefty offers this offseason, so the attention shifts to another Gregg Popovich disciple, Ettore Messina, who seems to fit the criteria of what the Nets are looking for in a head coach.
