Noah Claxton’s summer bodes well for him and rebuilding Brooklyn Nets

The two biggest headliners for the Brooklyn Nets summer league team were Jalen Wilson and Dariq Whitehead, for very different reasons. Keon Johnson also won himself a two year (partially guaranteed) deal, but as Brian Lewis reports Saturday, Noah Clowney’s performance may portend more than the other three’s.

In short, Clowney showed that his end-of-the-season heroics in March and April were no fluke on either end of the court. He shot 39.3% from deep and proved adept, even more that on the defensive end. He may have averaged 1.6 blocks, but as ESPN’s Tim Legler and others noted, he proved he could be an intimidating factor even without recording a block statistic.
