The Nets signed Alan Williams hoping for a rebounder.
They may have gotten so much more.
One day into training camp, he already had made an impression. Ask Kenny Atkinson about Williams — whose mother, Jeri, is a police chief and father, Cody Sr., a former councilman — and the Nets coach breaks into a Cheshire cat smile.
“You can just tell,” Atkinson said.
You can tell about Williams’ leadership and character. You can tell even if the newly signed forward’s role ends up being as a reserve (probable), or his minutes limited and sporadic (distinctly possible), the fourth-year pro will still be a Net positive.
