CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Even though the NBA hasn’t officially confirmed Joe Tsai’s move to become Nets minority owner, the e-commerce billionaire attended Tuesday’s loss at Golden State and spoke with both coach Kenny Atkinson and point guard Jeremy Lin.
Tsai was schooled in New Jersey and co-founded Alibaba, and is on the verge of officially completing a deal to buy 49 percent of the Nets with an option to take a majority share within three years. The Taiwanese-Canadian citizen has described Lin — who is of Taiwanese descent himself — as his favorite player.
Tsai, who has a home in LaJolla, Calif.
