When the Sacramento Kings lost to the New Orleans Pelicans (without Zion Williamson) Friday night, it freed up Jordi Fernandez to wish the Kings the best and head East to Brooklyn. If the Kings had won, Fernandez would’ve been tied down with things Kings until at least early May. Every day would be one when he wouldn’t be able to get his hands dirty in Brooklyn. That out of the way, Fernandez’s hiring will probably be announced in the next couple of days with a press conference to follow shortly thereafter.
Whenever the 41-year-old Fernandez touches down, he knows he’ll have his work cut out for him.
