The Nets will not make a qualifying offer to Jerome Jordan before June 30, although he could return, according to league sources. The move is essentially a bookkeeping move to give the Nets more flexibility.. Jordan would have become a restricted free agent if the Nets had made the offer.
Jordan, who played in 44 regular season games and one in the playoffs, was eligible for a $1.147 million qualifying offer. It had to be made by the end of June but, as Devin Kharpertian first reported yesterday -- and NetsDaily confirmed -- the Nets have decided against the move.
