Nets will have to make playoff push without Allen Crabbe

Nets shooting guard Allen Crabbe underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery Thursday which the team described as successful. It’s also sure to be season-ending.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley Williams III at Hospital for Special Surgery. The Nets said they’d issue updates regarding Crabbe’s return when it was “appropriate.” But that return will certainly not be until next season — if at all.

Injuries limited Crabbe — the Nets’ highest-paid player — to just 43 games this season (20 starts). He averaged 9.6 points on 36.7 percent shooting. He missed 26 straight games earlier this season with a bruised fat pad in the same knee.
