SAN ANTONIO — If the Nets have nightmares, they’re probably about playing at AT&T Center, against this Spurs team, which they want to be like. And Thursday they lost yet another game to the Spurs, and also lost their best defender, David Nwaba, to an Achilles tendon injury.
This time, the Nets collapsed down the stretch in a 118-105 defeat, continuing their losing streak in an arena in which they never have managed a victory. Brooklyn has now lost 17 straight regular-season games at AT&T Center.
“I don’t think they’re aware, but I think I’ll tell them,” Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said before the game.
