NETS TAKE JAYLEN HANDS OF UCLA AT NO. 55

Using the 56 qth pick they acquired in the earlier trade Thursday, the Nets selected Jaylen Hands of UCLA, a 6’3” sophomore point guard. Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news.

Hands was mostly a point guard but played shooting guard as well in Westwood. The 20-year-old from San Diego averaged 14.2 points, 6.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds, shooting 37.3 percent from three. On the other hand, he averaged 3.2 turnovers in only 31 minutes.

Hands best attribute is his athleticism as shown in several Internet videos...

Although his defense and shot selection are seen as issues, Hands has also been credited with being a solid leader for the Bruins, as this profile from our SB Nation sister site, Bruins Nation, wrote two days ago.
