Nets stuck in free-agency limbo

While free agency was set to erupt with Midnight Madness, the Nets’ free agency might be a little more of a slow burn.

Between having to negotiate Dwight Howard’s buyout to slow-playing a unique market with a lot of quality players and not a lot of teams with cap space for them, Nets general manager Sean Marks would be well-served to show patience.

The Nets aren’t big-game hunting for stars such as LeBron James and Paul George, or looking to deal for the likes of Kawhi Leonard. They are looking to preserve cap space for 2019, when they can conceivably have enough room to hand out two max deals.
