CHICAGO – Even during much of the Nets’ NBA-high winning streak, they’d struggled defensively. They just got away with mistakes on that end thanks to red-hot shooting on the other.
Wednesday in Chicago, the Nets had to gut out a victory with big stops down the stretch. They had to defend their way to a 96-93 win that was sloppy but sweet all the same, a league-high seventh consecutive victory.
After Joe Harris’ kiss off the glass put them up 94-93 with under a minute left, Spencer Dinwiddie stole Justin Holiday’s pass intended for Kris Dunn.
