Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie will have surgery Monday to repair torn ligaments in his right thumb, according to ESPN.
He is expected to be out three to six weeks for a Nets team that has won 20 of its past 25 games, including beating the rival Knicks at Barclays Center on Friday night. His other option was to attempt to play through the pain. According to the report, Dinwiddie met with two hand specialists based in New York late this week and both recommended surgery.
Dinwiddie, who is averaging 17.2 points and five assists off the bench, signed a three-year, $34.
