The Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie is being evaluated for a right thumb injury. The team confirmed the injury and listed the point guard as questionable for Friday night’s home game against the rival Knicks.
As of late Thursday afternoon, Dinwiddie was still being diagnosed. Losing him for any length of time would be a major blow for the Nets (26-23), who sit sixth in the Eastern Conference and are 18-5 since Dec. 7, but are already playing without Caris LeVert, who has been injured since early November.
Fox Sports Radio’s Caron Butler, who was Dinwiddie’s teammate in Detroit, tweeted that the Nets point guard had been examined by a leading hand specialist and had torn ligaments in his finger that are expected to sideline him for four-to-six weeks.
