The Nets have signed Kessler Edwards, the 6’8” swingman out of Pepperdine, to a two-way contract. Edwards becomes Brooklyn’s first two-way contract. They can sign two.
Edwards will play primarily for Long Island in the G League, but under NBA rules, he can be active for up to 50 NBA games before the team must make a decision to sign him to a standard NBA contract. Unlike in the past, there are no limit on practices, workouts or other activities with the NBA team. Two-way players get half the NBA vets’ minimum, $462,629.
Last week, Sean Marks hinted that he had already worked out one of the two-way deals, saying, “We still have to agree on a two-way position as well.
