Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell is in a weird spot this summer. He’ll become a free agent come June 30, and if it were up to him, he’d stay in Brooklyn. It’s evident he loves being a Net.
Russell, an NBA All-Star this past year, was a big reason the Nets were able to reach the postseason.
However, the Nets are pursuing point guard Kyrie Irving in free agency. Irving is obviously a superstar, so it isn’t the greatest news for Russell. The Nets then may not pursue Russell at all if they were to sign Irving, thus having Russell test free agency and sign somewhere else.
