Nets, Markel Brown helping community build new secure playground

The Nets will join Children of Promise NYC (CPNYC), KaBOOM! and Wingstop for a community build day on Monday to construct a new, $40,000 custom playground at CPNYC’s Brooklyn facility, where children of incarcerated parents can find a safe haven.

Markel Brown will make a special appearance at the event at 4:30 p.m. to unveil the playground at 54 MacDonough Street, Brooklyn, not far from Barclays Center.

The playground, which will encourage daily active outdoor play, will serve as a secure destination for children from neighborhoods where community parks and playgrounds are unsafe or in disrepair.
