Luis Scola, who signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract last week, played 27 minutes for his national team, scoring 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Scola has been working on his outside shooting the last past couple of seasons, but he finished 1-of-5 from three-point range. Argentina was without several of their key players, Manu Ginobili and Carlos Delfino. Argentina ended up losing the game 96-92.
Ike Diogu led all scorers with 18 points on the Nigerian team, tied for most in the game with Argentina’s Andres Nocioni. The 6’9 forward was 5-of-8 from the field and also shot 7-of-8 from the free throw line in 27 minutes of play.
