Nets lock up Caris LeVert with birthday three-year deal

Add Caris LeVert to the list of Nets getting paid this summer.

After the franchise’s free-agent spending spree on Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan, the team agreed to a three-year $52.5 million contract extension with LeVert on Sunday night, according to ESPN.

The deal, which LeVert confirmed with a Twitter video, comes on the homegrown star’s 25th birthday.

“Brooklyn is where I’ve always wanted to be,” he said in the video. “To the city and all of my teammates, you’ve believed in me since day one. … This is where I started my career and where I want to continue it.
