Kyrie Irving is expected to return to the Nets lineup this weekend, following a two-month absence in which the star point-guard seriously considered season-ending surgery for a shoulder impingement, The Post’s Brian Lewis reported. ESPN was first to report the news.
Irving, who last played Nov. 14, is listed as probable for Sunday’s 6 p.m. home game against the Hawks.
The 27-year-old and the Nets’ biggest free-agent acquisition alongside Kevin Durant (torn Achilles) opened up last week about his injury troubles, which seemed to be putting his season was in jeopardy.
But on Thursday, Irving participated in his first full practice since going down and seemed optimistic about returning to the Nets, who could surely use him after going 2-8 in their last 10 games.
