Nets haven’t adjusted to foes focusing on D’Angelo Russell

MIAMI — With returning players shaking off rust and new lineup combinations being cycled through, it’s obvious the Nets are out of sync.

And opponents are helping them down the path to dysfunction, attacking the point guards of this sputtering offense.

The Heat repeatedly denied or blitzed D’Angelo Russell and trapped Spencer Dinwiddie. The tactic worked so well in a 117-88 Brooklyn loss, the Nets already know they’re going to see a lot more of that down the road.

“They’re getting the ball out of [Russell’s] hands, trapping his pick-and-rolls,” coach Kenny Atkinson said.
