NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Brooklyn Nets have fired coach Lionel Hollins and reassigned general manager Billy King within the organization.
The Nets are 10-27 this season — the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.
Hollins had a 48-71 record in his one and a half seasons in Brooklyn.
“After careful consideration, I’ve concluded that it’s time for a fresh start and a new vision for the direction of the team,” said Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov said in a news release. “By making this decision now, it enables our organization to use the rest of the season to diligently evaluate candidates with proven track records.
