The Nets don’t officially open training camp until Friday, but star Kyrie Irving is already hurt.
The All-NBA standout got hit with an elbow to the head during a morning pickup game Tuesday. Coach Kenny Atkinson accompanied Irving to the doctor to get examined.
“Kyrie got hit with an inadvertent elbow during pickup this morning,” general manager Sean Marks said. “I wouldn’t want to speculate at all. I think this is just a case of doing due diligence. Kyrie goes and gets checked out like we’d do with anyone else, and we always send staff with them.
