The Nets are throwing cold water on the idea that Kevin Durant returning this season — with one caveat.
General manager Sean Marks said Tuesday “the expectations are that Kevin will be out for the year” after Brooklyn’s new star ruptured his Achilles with the Warriors during the NBA Finals in June. There’s been recent speculation that Durant could return toward the end of the 2019-20 season.
However, Marks did add that Durant will “have a large say” regarding when he comes back.
Meanwhile, fellow new marquee signing Kyrie Irving had to leave training Tuesday morning after being hit with an elbow.
