Kyrie Irving is complicated.
It’s something of which the Nets must have been fully aware when they signed the six-time All-Star this past offseason, yet the team reportedly has struggled adapting to Irving’s nature just three games into his tenure in Brooklyn.
ESPN reported Tuesday that Irving’s “infamous mood swings” are “the unspoken concern that makes Nets officials queasy.” The article said when Irving is in a rut, he shuts down and becomes difficult to communicate with — for coaches, team officials and even teammates.
There already, according to ESPN, has been an incident of that sort involving Irving, which occurred during the Nets’ preseason trip to China for two games against the Lakers.
