NBA talks up ‘best mind’ to turn around Nets

TORONTO — As the Nets search for their new general manager, Bryan Colangelo continues to emerge as a top candidate. He’s a two-time NBA Executive of the Year, and players and coaches from those rebuilding jobs in Phoenix and here with the Raptors showered him with praise as an honest straight-shooter who could do it a third time in Brooklyn.

“Oh, man he’s one of the most stand-up guys I’ve known, ever met coming into the business,’’ DeMar DeRozan said before the Raptors’ 112-100 victory over the Nets on Monday night.

The Toronto shooting guard is highly regarded not just for his game, but for his loyalty.
