Mirza Teletovic had a rough, yet inspiring year.
When the Nets power forward was forced to sit out the rest of the regular season after doctors found blood clots in his lungs at the end of January, basketball became secondary. Athletes get injuries all the time. Conditions, though, are far scarier.
But Teletovic persevered and made an unexpectedly miraculous return to the lineup for the Nets' first-round series against the Hawks. He may have barely played, but the fact that he was able to step onto the court was meaningful enough.
