Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov is a billionaire — but that doesn’t mean he can pass up a bargain.
The 50-year old executive is said to be looking to buy the 20 percent of the team he doesn’t already own — and the 55 percent of the Barclays Center arena now owned by co-owner Bruce Ratner, according to a report.
The potential deal would include Prokhorov forgiving an undisclosed amount that Ratner’s Forest City Enterprises owes him.
Prokhorov’s interest in increasing his stake in the team and arena to 100 percent was first reported by Bleacher Report.
