Just before the Summer League finals between the Bulls and Timberwolves Monday night, the Argentine and Nigerian national teams faced off at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Playing without Manu Ginobili and Carlos Delfino, Argentina lost, 96-92 in a hard-fought game. Luis Scola, who the Nets signed to a one-year, $5.5 million contract last week, finished the game with 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting, seven rebounds and two blocks in 27 minutes. Scola also shot 1-of-5 from deep. Nets stash Juan Pablo Vaulet, who will not travel to Rio with the national team, played seven minutes, all in the first half, scoring two points on 1-of-2 shooting.
