The Long Island Nets were without Dzanan Musa, their leading scorer, and Theo Pinson Thursday, when they made their debut in the G League Showcase in Las Vegas, but Jordan McLaughlin, their 6’1” point guard, filled in more than adequately.
McLaughlin led Long Island to a 110-100 win over the Rio Grande Vipers. The 22-year-old USC product finished with 32 points, eight assists and six steals. The Showcase brings together all 27 G League teams for four days of games.
McLaughlin’s performance marked a new season-high in scoring for a Nets player.
