STONY BROOK, NY - There’ll be no G League championship for the Long Island Nets.
The Rio Grande Valley Vipers defeated Long Island in Game 3 of the G League Finals at the Island Federal Arena on the Stony Brook University campus. The final score: 129-112. It was the Vipers record third G League title, having won the previous two in 2010 and 2013.
Long Island went down early and never recovered, with the Vipers lead climbing to more than 30 in the third quarter. The loss had to be disappointing to the Nets who won Game 1 handily at Island Federal before losing Game 2 in Edinburg, Texas.
