On Sunday, the Long Island Nets entertained the Westchester Knicks in a Battle of the Boroughs match at the Nassau Coliseum. It was the second game of a new campaign in the G League after an Opening Night that saw Brooklyn’s affiliate play well against the Maine Celtics. Unfortunately, they would not fair as well against the Knicks, getting blown out, 118-99, and not seeing much to be encouraged by, starting with two of their young development projects, Dariq Whitehead and Killian Hayes. Both had good games Friday, not so good Sunday.
Whitehead finished with only seven points.
