Kamari Murphy responded to his first start of the NBA G League season with 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Long Island Nets on Thursday, but it was far from enough as the Nets were hammered by the Canton Charge 151-125 at Canton Memorial Civic Center.
The Nets (8-4) opened a three-game road trip with a game in Canton that had originally been scheduled for Nov. 16 before being postponed because the Nets couldn’t get off Long Island due to the winter storm that hit the New York area that weekend.
Murphy, who started 48 games for Long Island last season, started in place of Alan Williams, on a two-way contract with the parent Brooklyn Nets, who did not dress due to a sprained left ankle.
