Friday was a tough day in New York City, with the remnants of tropical storm Ophelia drenching the city in record-setting volume. The borough of Brooklyn, home of the New York Liberty, was hit particularly hard, with many residents experiencing flooding not only on the streets and subways but in their homes.
When asked if the ‘New York’ across on their uniforms meant a little more for Friday’s Game 3, Liberty Head Coach Sandy Brondello said, “Yeah, definitely. You know, it’s terrible, I’ve been a part of a lot of floods in Australia. And it is terrible because it ruins so many things here, so hopefully, number one, everybody’s safe.
