Late Jimmy Butler 3-pointer hands Nets crushing defeat

The Nets appeared poised to chase the 76ers out of Barclays Center again, perhaps just as handily as they had earlier this month.

Of course, that game was before Jimmy Butler landed in Philadelphia.

The Nets frittered away a 20-point first-half lead, and Butler’s 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds remaining sent them to a devastating defeat, 127-125, Sunday night in Brooklyn.

Indeed, all together now, the Butler did it.

D’Angelo Russell registered a season-high 38 points, while adding eight rebounds and eight assists as the Nets loss their third consecutive game. Spencer Dinwiddie contributed 31 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 26.
