ORLANDO — For the first time in seven weeks, Kyrie Irving opened up about his injury. And it sounds like not being able to help his team has frustrated him as much as his actual shoulder impingement itself.
Irving hadn’t played, practiced or spoken to the press since Nov. 14. But on Saturday the star guard finally opened up about how mentally taxing it’s been to face not just the injury itself, but uncertainty and the daunting prospect of arthroscopic surgery.
“I’m going to be as candid as possible: It’s fairly difficult to be injured at the beginning of the season, in the middle of the season, at the end of the season, during the playoffs.
