Maybe Amir Johnson and Joel Embiid wanted to see how social media was taking their playoff loss.
The 76ers big men were caught checking Johnson’s phone on the bench during Philadelphia’s 111-102 loss to the Nets on Game 1 of their Eastern Conference playoff series at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday. Johnson was not even active for the game.
ESPN commentator Doris Burke took issue with them being on the phone while the game was still going on. The Nets led 104-88 with 6:20 to play in the fourth quarter when it happened. Burke speculated they were sending or looking at a text message.
