Jarrett Allen’s summer league availability for Nets is in doubt

LAS VEGAS — As a third-year pro and incumbent starter, it was surprising that Jarrett Allen was even on the Nets’ summer league roster, and unlikely he was going to play all that much.

It may have gotten even more unlikely, as he sustained a right thumb injury in the first full day of practice. One team source described it as “minor,” and his status is still uncertain for Friday’s opener against Dallas (NBA TV, 7 p.m.).

“Bumps and bruises,” shrugged Allen, who had a wrap on his thumb.

Allen and second-year pro Rodions Kurucs are regular-season starters on the summer league roster.
