PHILADELPHIA — Nets guard Isaiah Whitehead had successful surgery Tuesday to repair the scapholunate ligament in his right wrist. The procedure was performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
After a spate of backcourt injuries last season led to Whitehead finishing third on the team in appearances and fifth in minutes, he saw his playing time cut this time around. He made just 16 appearances and averaged 6.3 points in 11.2 minutes. Whitehead spent most of his time with G-League Long Island, pouring in a team-high 22.3 points in 30 games.
Whitehead finished the season strong, and adjusted back to largely playing off the ball, even playing small forward at times.
