LAS VEGAS — As soon as the Nets’ trade for Dwight Howard became official on Friday, they waived the former All-Star. Brooklyn hammered out a buyout agreement, and GM Sean Marks admitted that negotiation will end up shaping his summer strategy.
“If you look at the way we’re trying to build a team and you look at going forward years out from now, this is something that helps us going forward for next year,” Marks said.
“Dwight’s a terrific player. He’s been a terrific player in this league for a long time. I think this is something that we mutually agreed on, to give him an opportunity elsewhere.
