Coming into the season with 144 NBA D-League games under his belt, Brooklyn Nets center Willie Reed was hoping to finally receive a chance to show what he could do at the NBA level on a stay longer than ten days.
That opportunity came with the Nets, who signed him to a one-year deal during the NBA Summer League. With no clear backup behind Brook Lopez, Reed had the chance to grab a decent portion of the minutes in the Nets front court.
The year didn’t start how he would have liked however, as Reed with a ligament injury in his right thumb that knocked him out of commission for a couple of months.
