If they had wanted, the Nets could have claimed Tony Wroten off waivers this afternoon. No fuss, no bother. They had the cap space --via a trade exception-- and they were first in line at the waiver wire because of their poor record.
But the Nets passed --and now that nine other clubs have passed on him, as the Nets did-- they won't be trying to sign him as a free agent.
Fred Kerber wrote Sunday that the high-scoring but turnover-prone Wroten, dumped by the Sixers in a surprise move Thursday, is not in the Nets plans.
