NEW ORLEANS — Former Net Jahlil Okafor is in a good place. Athletically and emotionally, that is.
Now with the Pelicans, Okafor is enjoying the first winning experience of his NBA career (“I haven’t been 3-0 since Duke,” he said with a smile), and happy with his decision to finally seek help for anxiety. His only regret is not doing it sooner, when he ignored a Nets staffer’s advice to do so last season.
“That’s really just addressing it and accepting it for what it is. I deal with anxiety, that’s the thing,” Okafor said before New Orleans rallied to beat the Nets 117-115 on Friday night.
