Dzanan Musa is flying to New York from Sarajevo Sunday after he injured his right ankle at the end of a FIBA World Cup Qualifier vs. the Czech Republic in the Bosnia capital.
League sources told NetsDaily that the severity of the injury is, at this point, not known. He will be examined Monday on arrival in New York. Initial reports out of Bosnian media suggested, apparently inaccurately, that Musa had hurt his right Achilles tendon, which would have been a far more serious injury.
Asked about those reports, the league source said “as it stands now,” the injury is to the rookie’s ankle, not his achilles.
