Donald Sloan, Willie Reed survive final cuts to make Nets

They took almost all the time they could, but the Nets wound up making the expected moves to trim their roster to its regular-season limit.

The team announced Monday afternoon they had cut forwards Dahntay Jones and Justin Harper ahead of the 5 p.m. deadline to have the roster pared to 15 players.

“It’s always a tough day when guys have worked hard to earn the right to be out here and stay out here,” Nets coach Lionel Hollins said before the cuts were official. “It’s about numbers. They only let you keep 15, and that’s the way it is.
