The Brooklyn Nets are 4-4, legitimately one of the early season surprises in the NBA. While a lot has been written about the Nets youth movement, it’s been the team’s veterans — the 30ish players everyone seems to think will be gone by the deadline — who’ve helped drive the team’s unlikely success. Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton have played well but Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith and particularly Dennis Schroder have supplied a spark, some pride.
After Monday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Schroder made it plain what his goal is: “everybody wants to make the playoffs.
