The Nets were in shock Thursday night, taking an emotional gut-punch from seeing David Nwaba go down with a torn right Achilles tendon. The only thought on their collective minds was empathy for their teammate, who was expected to have undergone surgery on Friday.
“My heart aches to see David Nwaba go down. He is tenacious with such competitive spirit. Hope he will have a smooth recovery,” owner Joe Tsai tweeted.
But now, the thoughts have to turn to “what’s next?”
“When this happens, it’s kind of a shock,” coach Kenny Atkinson admitted. “We’ll get it together.
