Celtics rub salt in Nets’ wounds with era-defining blowout

BOSTON — Three summers ago, the Nets sold their future to Boston for what they hoped was a shot at their present. It turned out to be the worst deal since Faust.

With Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and the other players from that ill-fated trade all gone, struggling Brooklyn was eviscerated, 120-95 by the Celtics at TD Garden. Every wide-open 3-pointer was just salt in the wound, every too-easy jumper was just a reminder of how poorly that deal turned out for the Nets.

Brooklyn coughed up its unprotected first-round draft picks in 2014, 2016 and 2018, along with the right for the Celtics to swap first-rounders in 2017.
