CLEVELAND — It’s easy to understand how the Nets could have problems staying focused, more than 30 games under .500 and almost finished with a season going nowhere. But it’s rare to see a first-place team produce as much drama, or as many head-scratching performances, as the Cavaliers.
Sure, Cleveland is 52-22 going into Thursday’s game against the Nets, but the maddeningly inconsistent Cavaliers clearly need something. Maybe it’s a shrink, or a kick in the rear, or just a challenge to snap them out of their boredom.
It seems unlikely the Nets (21-53) will provide that challenge.
